The Edison Electric Institute (EEI) and the Smart Cities Council today announced a multi-pronged partnership to encourage smarter, more resilient, sustainable cities. EEI will join the Council as a Global Lead Partner.

EY has strengthened its leadership position as an advisor to cities around the world by becoming a global lead partner of the Smart Cities Council.
The website launch was announced by Founder & Director, Pratap Padode, during his presentation alongside multilateral agencies like World Bank, Asian Development Bank, The Department for International Development and others.
The Smart Cities Council India in association with the Telangana government hosted the National Conclave on Smart Technologies at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre on 22-23 August, 2015. International and national experts on technologies and smart cities along with urban development officials from across India – constituting 600 cities covering the 100 smart cities and 500 AMRUT cities – partcipated in the Conclave. The Union Minister for Urban Development of India, Shri Venkaiah Naidu and IT Minister, Telangana, KT Rama Rao were the guests of honour.
Smart Cities Council India successfully organised the third in its series of India-wide Promising Cities seminars in Kalyan on 27 August, 2015. in Kalyan, Maharashtra.
After a successful first Promising Cities Seminar in Ahmedabad in July 2015, the Smart Cities Council India kicked off its second seminar in Thane on 4 August, 2015.
After a successful first edition in Smart Cities Summit at Mumbai in August 2014, the second edition of the Sm@rt Cities Summit was held at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, on 17-18 February, 2015.
