Urban poor in Haryana to be assisted with livelihood opportunities

The Haryana Government has decided to enhance the scope of National Urban Livelihood Mission (NULM) from 80 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) to 86 ULBs in order to enable the poor and vulnerable urban poor household’s access to gainful self-employment and skilled wage employment opportunities under the NULM.

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has approved this proposal of State Urban Development Authority, a State Urban Development Authority spokesman said.

He said the state has constituted six more Municipal Committees of Sadhaura, Ismailabad, Jakhal-Mandi, Kundli, Sisai and Bass. As NULM being only one scheme or programme to address the livelihood issues of urban poor, thus the components of this Mission would be implemented in six newly constituted Municipal Committees.
