‘There are islands of excellence in this lake of frustration’

The National Conclave on Smart Technologies held in late August 2015, witnessed participation from various delegations and organizations across a wide spectrum of communities, from civic bodies, to state and national level government along with international professionals in the field of Smart Cities.

Pratap Padode, Founder Director, Smart Cities Council India, delivered the welcome address at the National Conclave on Smart Technologies on August 22-23, 2015, held at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre.

“There are islands of excellence in this lake of frustration”, is what Pratap Padode quoted while taking a dig at the so-called prophets of doom.

He shared his own experience at what on his discovery and belief in the concept of Smart Cities, and raised concern over the deficit in trust for this concept.

In technology, Pratap shared the example of Cisco which has placed a ‘kiosk’ at the Mantri Mall in Bangalore, which allows people register an ‘FIR’ directly.
