Srinagar administration has upgraded 10 traffic signals to Intelligent Traffic Signal System (ITSS) in the capital city.From Integrated Command and Control System (ICCS) to Red Light Violation Detection System (RLVDS) to Speed Violation Detection System (SVDS) to Pedestrian Signal Lights and Vehicle Sensing System, the ITSS will have state-of-the-art features to ensure smart and effective traffic management system in the capital city.
The 10 traffic signals that have been upgraded to ITSS include Sangarmal Junction, Clock Tower Crossing at MA Road, Fire and Emergency Services Batamaloo, J&K Bank Headquarters near Dalgate, Regal Crossing and several intersections on the highway at Bemina, Tengpora, Sanat Nagar, Hyderpora, and Nowgam.
Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar told that all the 10 signals are completed in all aspects. “In next 15 days, 14 more signals will be installed and made functional. The remaining ten will be completed before the deadline of 100 days,” he said.
