In a major development in the Smart Cities Mission, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) is planning to launch a web portal with details of its smart city projects. This initiative can be replicated by other civic agencies as well. The initiative has been taken on a lieutenant governor’s directive.
As soon as the launch date of the portal is finalized, the link to the portal, Municipal Smart Initiative Smart Centre, will be made available on the official website of the NDMC1. NDMC chairperson, Naresh Kumar said there will various sections in portal such as the best practices that have been adopted in the field of e-mobility, education, energy saving, e-governance and physical social health. It is expected to be launched by this month end.
“Every section will be divided into sub-sections, with each specifying the projects implemented successfully and having received good responses from the public such as smart parking, smart classes, smart meter, smart bikes, taxi stands, e-vehicle charging stations and e-scooters,” said Kumar.
