The smart cities mission has clearly brought into focus the need for use of technologies for delivering urban services to citizens while conserving resources and building self-sustainability. Smart Cities Council India at the behest of Government of Telangana, is hosting the ' National Conclave on Smart Technologies' (NCST) to showcase technologies which can be used in 600 municipalities across India. IBM, CISCO, HP among others come together to demonstrate technologies in mobility, e-governance, water, waste management, smart energy etc. These technologies are ready to deploy across India on immediate basis.
Government of Telangana in association with Smart Cities Council India is organizing NCST on 22nd & 23rd August 2015 at Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC), Hyderabad – focusing on the theme PREPARING FOR SMARTER CITIES.
The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has accelerated his pet project of 100 Smart Cities by announcing the guidelines for qualifying cities for this programme and NCST will showcase technologies applicable for smart cities, steps to be taken by ULBs for smart cities programme, successful case studies, preliminary workshop in project capacity building, ‘innovation’ showcase on smart cities apps, technologies and so on. In short, this will prepare state administration in the smart cities mission.
Invitees include mayors, municipal authorities, urban planners, urban development ministry officials, trade commissioners, international expert, technology vendors, technology solution providers, design experts, from 600 cities across India to Hyderabad at this mega two day event. The event is expected to attract over 600 delegates from India and overseas.
At a press meet held today, Smart Cities Council India introduced the three companies among others, which will be showcasing smart technologies at the National Conclave on Smart Technologies on Aug 22-23.
“The Smart Cities Council India will incorporate many of the case studies showcased into its “India Readiness Guide” which it is preparing for enabling ULBs in smartening their cities. The India Readiness Guide will be the “go-to” document for ULBs. Besides the Smart Cities Council India is also undertaking a multi-city tour for capacity building awareness offering ready capabilities and solutions to the challenges of ULBs,” stated Pratap Padode, Founder & Director, Smart Cities Council India.
