BHUBANESWAR: Marking the beginning of the first citizen-friendly Information Technology-backed services under the smart city project, chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday inaugurated the Bhubaneswar One web portal at an event here.
A first of its kind in the country, the portal will have GIS-based information about the city and will enable citizens to find locations of hotels, healthcare centres and government offices and status of various online services, to name a few.
The Bhubaneswar Development Authority's (BDA) move is inspired by Singapore, which has a similar portal for its citizens. The portal has been developed jointly by the BDA and National Informatics Centre Services Inc, a central government-owned department. The BDA has released Rs 2.49 crore to NICSI to develop the portal.
