Siddipet, Kavali selected for AMRUT Cities

The Telangana government and the Andhra Pradesh government have selected Siddipet alongwith Srikalahasti and Kavali, respectively for the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) cities.

Speaking about the '100 Smart Cities' mission, the Union urban development minister M Venkaiah Naidu said cities that won nomination as Smart Cities would be submitting their detailed project report by December 15, based on which 20 cities would be selected for the first year.

Further, the minister said that the government is keen on setting up two power generating plants through solid wastes in the Telangana state, one each at Hyderabad and Nalgonda.
