Professor Carlo Ratti, a smart city expert, a architect, engineer and inventor by profession has featured in Blueprint Magazine’s ’25 people who will change the world of design’ and also in the ‘Smart List 2012: 50 people who will change the world’.
His prolific knowledge of data analytics and expertise in use of data to solve urban issues like traffic, energy consumption and air pollution etc is very well known.
Ratti was speaking at the NCST in Hyderabad last month, he said that currently the amount of data processed in 24-48 hours is equivalent to the entire data produced since civilization till 2003.
Next he spoke about one of his project he did in Milan at the World Expo on food market – Super Market. On how, he could bring the experience of shopping online to physical shopping, use seamless technology to browse through the product description, its make, manufacture etc before one could buy it.
