Enel Green Power has launched an innovation competition, a public prize challenge, organized to solve five technical issues, with new and innovative ideas.
The company is looking for early-stage innovative technological solutions and proposals for the following challenges: Use of drones/satellites in renewable plants; automatic assembly of solar photovoltaic (PV) plants; PV panels cleaning; Wind turbines generators blades anti-icing and de-icing systems; and New geophysical prospecting techniques.
EGP accepts innovative proposals to address the challenges defined above till 11:59 PM (Italian Time) on 31 October, 2015. They will be evaluated by a team of experts of Enel Green Power and judged by an internal Jury by the end of 2015.
GE spins up out new division to promote energy efficiency. The conglomerate also announced new Industrial Internet customers and software.
GE plans to create a new business to help governments, industrial and utility clients become more energy efficient, according to GE CEO Jeff Immelt who was speaking at the conglomerate’s Minds+Machines event in San Francisco.
The business will start out with $1 billion in revenue and will combine GE's existing Predix assets with available financing provided by the new company. The company is as of now unnamed and will have an undisclosed amount in available capital for financing activities.
