Mizoram: Aizawl

Aizawl is the capital of the state of Mizoram. With a resident population of 293,416, it is the largest city in the state.

The population of Aizawl strongly reflects the different communities of the ethnic Mizo people.

It is also the centre of administration containing all the important government offices, state assembly house and civil secretariat.

The Aizawl Municipal Council is the authority of civic administration of Aizawl city. The economy of Aizawl is basically sustained by government services as it is capital of Mizoram.

Aizawl is connected by air, rail and road with the rest of the country. Being a major tourism hub the Mizoram government has a vision of progressing as a Tourism hub.

The government would focus on providing better amenities for the tourists in the city.

With the augmentation of technology the state has planned to smarten the city on its own way which will benefit the citizens for their betterment and also provide more jobs for the citizens so as to enhance the capital’s image of a tourism hub.
