The processing of waste plastic products has a significant impact on the environment. Most plastics are not degradable. Moving forward on its commitment towards Environment, Dabur, a producer of Ayurvedic products, has plans to expand its mega Plastic Waste recycling initiative in Uttar Pradesh. Through this initiative, Dabur is planning to collect over 19,000,00 kg of post-consumer plastic waste in the year 2019-20 and create a ‘Swaach Uttar Pradesh’.

Dabur rolled out its plastic waste collection and it’s recycling/reuse processing initiative in Uttar Pradesh in the 2018-19 financial year to meet the Plastic Waste Management (PWM) Rule 2016, 2018 (amended) compliances in the State.

Dabur has collected a total of 14,000,00 kg of different types of plastic waste (recyclable and non-recyclable) direct from the end-users with the help of around 2,330 local ragpickers in Kanpur, Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Mathura, Agra, Moradabad, Ghaziabad, Sahibabad, Meerut, Noida and Greater Noida cities by the end of March 2019.
