The civic body is considering going ahead with certain projects such as barrier-free city for disabled and use of STP water in 2016-17.
The projects were factored as part of smart city plan but did not get general body's approval. NCP, the dominant partner did not approve the plan, a condition mandatory for the civic body to qualify for funding from Centre. NMMC now intends to take up these projects, as they are 'important for the city'.
The authorities are also hoping that the state will issue a government resolution (GR) for disbursing Rs 100 crore annually, the amount it was supposed to do as part of its contribution to smart city plan.
Sources said that NMMC would consider funding part of the disabled project.
NMMC is also looking at obtaining funds for the Rs 454-crore plus STP project. "Yes, there is a possibility that we can obtain funds under other Central schemes like AMRUT," the source added.
NMMC will be financing these projects from the Rs 800 crore coming in from LBT-equivalent and property tax and their arrears, said sources.
